  • Investments in the Czech Republic brought forward
  • Size of location to more than double in the years to come
  • Orders already on hand

Oberkirch, June 24, 2014 - PWO's Czech Republic location is at the onset of another strong phase of growth. In each of the next two years, high-volume series productions will begin. Today, this location is already operating at a level of high capacity utilization. Investments planned for the years 2015 and 2016 will be brought forward by one year, respectively, to the years 2014 and 2015, in order that we may remain efficient and flexible when it comes to customer requirements. This concerns a volume of between seven and ten million euros in total. Thus, the Group's planned investment for 2014 will increase to around EUR 40 million.

A new press hall for up to three deep-drawing presses will be built at the Czech Republic location as well as a new assembly and logistic hall. This will add a further 12,000 square meters of operating space, including office space for production-related areas. The infrastructure will also be enhanced. The size of the location will more than double overall. The commissioning of a first section for assembly and logistical purposes is already planned for the end of 2014 and in mid-2015 the first additional 1,250-ton press is scheduled to commence operation.

Land already purchased in the previous year is available for the expansion and is optimally positioned adjacent to the existing location. This will allow the lean management concept of the successful PWO Production System to be further implemented as part of this expansion.
