Oberkirch, September 05, 2019 - On September 6, 1919, seven courageous entrepreneurs founded Progreß-Werk Oberkirch Aktiengesellschaft in Stadelhofen (Baden). From the beginning, the Company focused on the manufacture of air pumps for bicycles, motorcycles and automobiles, making it an automotive supplier right from the very start of production. PWO quickly became the world market leader for air pumps with exports worldwide.

Under the motto "100 years of pioneering," PWO's 100-year commitment to the automotive industry is also the focus of the anniversary celebrations. The celebration will start with a ceremony on September 7, 2019 in the presence of numerous guests from the fields of politics, business and research, as well as current and former employees of PWO. A keynote speaker will be the president of the German parliament (Bundestag), Dr. Wolfgang Schäuble, who was directly elected as the representative of the constituency of Offenburg and has held this position for almost five decades.

PWO is inviting all interested parties to an Open House on September 8, 2019 at its home location in Stadelhofen, for a walk through a hundred years of company history. In addition, visitors can take a live look at the Company's contemporary production site and watch the world's fastest deep-drawn production of motor housings. Catering will be provided by Vereinsgemeinschaft Stadelhofen. We thank them very much for their extraordinary dedication.
