PWO extends production capacity at Oberkirch plant
Oberkirch, October 8, 2007 ? Progress-Werk Oberkirch AG has today added a new 9,200 kN press to the range of machinery installed at its Oberkirch site. The introduction of an additional high-performance press bears testimony to PWO's success within the marketplace, as well as underlining the company's expertise within the field of high-tech production and the positive effects of the PWO Production System on overall competitiveness. PWO thus has a total of 35 metal-forming presses with a force of 800 to 10,000 kN at its Oberkirch facility.
The expansion of capacity levels was planned over a year ago in response to the company's strong market potential. In parallel, the investment amounting to EUR 3.6 million was accompanied by a number of process innovations with regard to operational precision, productivity and machine servicing. As a result, PWO has further strengthened its competitive position and demonstrated its prowess as a high-tech supplier.
The company has already secured a number of production orders for the new press, thus ensuring solid capacity utilisation from start-up and safeguarding jobs at the facility.
